Deaf West’s production of Spring Awakening has enjoyed a Broadway revival, reaching thousands of theater-goers who might not otherwise have been exposed to the artistic potential of ASL. That in itself in cause for rejoicing. Deaf viewers have noted problems with the hearing actors’ use of Sim-Com.
